Dr. Anthony (V. Ananthanarayanan) will be attending the TEQIP II workshop on October 20, 2016 as a resource for the event. This sponsored one-day workshop on opportunities and challenges in welding automation is organized by the Centre of Excellence in Welding Engineering & Technology, and the Department of Robotics & Automation Engineering.
The workshop will be held at the PSG College of Technology in Coimbatore, India. The Department of Robotics and Automation Engineering (RAE) was established in the academic year 2011 in order to meet
the growing demand for trained manpower in the field of Robotics and Industrial automation. Automation engineering is an inter-disciplinary field that requires knowledge in hardware as well as software development and their applications. This unique program is tailored to develop superior quality robotics & automation talent for manufacturing, defense, food, aerospace, medical and service
sectors.
The Department organizes conferences and workshops to enable the students and faculty to update knowledge in the latest trends in Robotics and Automation.
The Centre of Excellence in Welding (COE-Welding) is being established with a grant-in-aid from Department of Heavy Industry (DHI), Government of India. The COE proposal was approved by DHI on 22nd March 2016 under the Capital Goods Growth Sector.
